ART

My Story
Hi, I am Svitlana Zagor, a self-taught visual artist.
I live in Maryland, near the beautiful Lake Linganore.
I create paintings in traditional realism style by using acrylics and oils, and I like to draw with graphite pencil. My favorite things to paint are landscapes, flowers, animals, and portraits.

I love God’s creation and rejoice in beauty of the nature.
Earlier in my life I couldn't see that much because of being a "prisoner" of the endless routine daily tasks.
But there was a day when everything had changed.
It was the day when I lost my job, which I believed was a purpose of my life. On that day I lost myself, I lost my identity.
I needed a new vision, I needed a PURPOSE to move forward.
While I was crying and praying to God, I received a vision inside of my heart, a vision of flowers, swans, water, sky, and rising up sun, and I heard the words saying to my soul that art is the part of my identity, and I can create beautiful paintings.
That day became a new start and a new beginning for me.

I see art as the one of the mysteries of this world.
It brings messages to the people without saying a word. It can make you laugh or cry, sad or happy; it can recall your memories or swirl your imagination.
There is an endless list of the mysterious affects that art can make on people.

Every painting I've made I love like my newborn baby. It was conceived inside of my spirit, grew in my soul, and was delivered into this world through the works of my hands.
* * *
I am seeing myself as the "brush" in the hands of my Heavenly Father in His art workshop.

I have never learn how to paint. It is a pure gift which was hidden inside of me for decades, and because of that I give all thanks to the God, who through my faith in Jesus Christ revealed it to me during that prayer.

I do it to express God’s love to everyone, to enlighten people's lives, and to give hope and the future.
May your journey in the world of these paintings bless you and bring you peace.

SvitLana
